I am a surgeon and writer.
My field of expertise is in ophthalmic surgery, with interests in complex high-stakes surgery on patients with only one seeing eye, glaucoma, supporting patients with vulnerability and preventing children's eye injuries.
In my professional life I am also a researcher and educator, passionate about reducing avoidable blindness. I map my endeavours to the patient journey from case detection and diagnosis, all the way through to complex laser and surgical interventions. I believe in compassionate, holistic, patient-centred care, delivered by expert clinical teams through safe systems.
